PROTECT AND PRESERVE AMERICA'S OLDEST CITY, ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA
"FOR THE BENEFIT AND ENJOYMENT OF THE PEOPLE"
THE STORY:
In secret, behind closed doors in America's oldest European-founded city, St. Augustine, grown-ups of all ages are puzzled about a small local resident named "Ponce de Ratón™".
(pronounced "pons day raytone") Ratón is Spanish for mouse. Ponce is Spanish for Prince. Locals call him the "Mouse Prince™", but he likes to be called "Ponce™".
The word on Anastasia Island is that Ponce de Ratón™ is not related in any way to the famous mouse in Orlando, but wants to preserve St. Augustine's "sense of place" by asking Florida's 4th graders and all Americans to support the creation of the St. Augustine National Historical Park, Seashore and Scenic Coastal Parkway.
